Stags Celebrate Town of Fairfield Night, Hosting CCSU on Thursday at 7 PM

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will return to Lessing Field when they host the NEC Preseason favorites, Central Connecticut State on Thursday night at 7 p.m. This will be the beginning of another busy stretch for the Stags who will pay four games in the next nine days, with three of those coming on Lessing Field.
 
Things To Know:
  • The Stags enter their home stand after a 3-1 victory at Fordham on Sunday. Dana Nadda, Maddy Theriault, and Alex Darcy all netted scores for the Stags with Reagan Klarmann dishing out an assist on the final goal.
  • With her first career goal, Nadda was named the MAAC Rookie of the Year, the second weekly award for the Stags this season. It also marks the 12th time a Stag has been named the MAAC Rookie of the Week in the six seasons under Head Coach David Barrett.
  • The Stags have out-shot their opponents in four of their first five matches and have totaled a 76-50 clip. They rank second in the MAAC and 77th in the country with 15.2 shots per game.
  • Fairfield also ranks second in the conference in fewest fouls per game at 6.6 per contest, ranking 33rd in the NCAA. They are also one of just 33 teams in the country not to be given a yellow card yet this season.
  • Through the first six goals of the season, the Stags have had five different goal scorers with Theriault, Darcy, Nadda, Allie Kirby, and Aubrey Silverman touching net.
 
About Central Connecticut
  • The Blue Devils enter play with a 1-3-1 overall record with a win over Siena and a draw against Holy Cross. All three of their setbacks have been one-goal against Seton Hall, Brown, and St. John's.
  • CCSU was chosen as the Preseason favorites in the NEC after going unbeaten in the league last season.
  • Giavanna Inzerillo leads the team with five goals and has been named the NEC Player of the Week twice this year.
