FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will look to continue their winning ways in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) when they host Rider for a Saturday night matchup at 7pm.
 
 
Things To Know:

• The Stags started off their MAAC slate with a resounding 3-0 win against Mount St. Mary's with Maddy Theriault and Elle Scott picking up scores for the Stags.
• Theriault had a hand in all three of Fairfield goals by netting a pair and also assisting on Scott's goal on a deflected shot.
• For her efforts, Theriault was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week and also earned an Honorable Mention selection for Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week, one of just 23 student-athletes selected across the country.
• Theriault ranks in the top-50 in the country in both goals (six) and points (14).
• It marked the fifth time in the six years under Head Coach David Barrett where the Stags had a positive result in their MAAC opener. Fairfield is now 3-1-2 in conference openers under Barrett with their only setback coming in the Covid shortened 2020 spring season.
• The Stags held Mount St. Mary's without a shot on goal, it was the first time since Oct. 8, 2022 at Rider where Fairfield did not surrender a shot on net.
• Meghan Carragher enters the match tied with Quinnipiac's Courtney Chochol for the league lead with four assists.

 
About Rider:

• Rider enters with a 3-4-1 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the MAAC after a 1-0 win over Siena but a 1-0 loss against Marist
• Ellie Sciancalepore is the team's anchor as goalkeeper allowing just 0.88 goals per game while holding a .837 save percentage.
