Stags Celebrate Senior Day on Saturday

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will honor the six-member Senior Class of 2024 and also open up their conference slate with a visit from Mount St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon. Senior Day festivities are scheduled for 12:45pm as the program honors the dedication and accomplishments of: Angela Filosa, Sydney Corbett, Maddie Kiely, Elle Scott, Allie Kirby, and Caroline Kelly. Kickoff for the Stags' MAAC opener is slated for 1pm.
 
 
Things To Know:
  • The hard-work and success of the Fairfield Senior Class has helped the program build into the perennial conference contender they are today. The group has been a part of 27 victories and brought home the program's first MAAC Regular Season Championship in a decade.
  • The six members have also accounted for 24 goals and 23 assists while earning four All-MAAC selections.
  • Fairfield is coming off their second-straight draw and their third of the year as they battled to a 3-3 tie at crosstown rivals Sacred Heart
  • Sam Kersey led the Stags with her first career multi-goal game as she netted the first two scores for the Stags. Kersey has now scored three goals in her last three games and ranks second on the team with her three tallies. She also ranks fifth in the MAAC with a .529 shot accuracy.
  • Maddy Theriault tallied the other score for the Stags with a go-ahead goal in the second half. Her four scores now lead the MAAC and her 12 career goals ranks her second on the team among active players.
  • Meghan Carragher was credited with two assists in the outing at Sacred Heart, bringing her season total to four. She leads the MAAC and ranks 33rd in the country with those four helpers.
  • As a team, the Stags are tied for the MAAC lead with 11 goals, tying Quinnipiac
  • This will be the first-ever visit from Mount St. Mary's to Lessing Field
 About Mount St. Mary's:
  • The Mount enters play with a 2-4-2 overall record and a 0-0-1 mark in the conference after a 1-1 draw against Iona. Madison Bee netted the game-tying goal in the 80th minute.
  • Luisangely Navas is the team leader with two goals and one assist.
  • Kill Keshwar has led the team as netminder with 37 saves and a .804 save percentage

  • The Stags will have a week off before traveling to Rider for another MAAC match on Saturday at 7pm.
