LEWISTON, N.Y. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will close out their stay in Western New York when they travel to Niagara University to take on the Purple Eagles on Sunday at 2pm on ESPN+. The Stags will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak.
Â
The Stags are coming off a 73-60 loss to Canisius on Friday night. Fairfield scored 41 second half points including 27 in the fourth quarter but it was not enough to overcome a 20-point halftime deficit.
Â

Â
In her first start in a month,
Andrea Hernangomez also recorded double figures with 12 points and neared a double-double with a team-high nine rebounds.
Â
The Stags tried to rally against the Griffs by increasing the tempo which resulted in 22 Canisius turnovers. It is the second-straight game and the 11th time this season that Fairfield has forced 20 or more turnovers. The Stags are second in the MAAC and 47th in the country with 18.9 turnovers forced per contest.

Â
Fairfield will next return home to the Leo D. Mahoney Arena for Senior Night when they take on Marist on Thursday at 7pm. Before the game, the Stags will honor their Senior Class of 2023 in Mackenzie Martin and
