EDISON, N.J. – On the heels of a 2-0 weekend for Fairfield University Volleyball to win its fifth straight MAAC Regular Season Championship,
Allie Elliott and
Mamie Krubally have earned weekly honors from the conference. Elliott picks up MAAC Player of the Week for the first time in her career, while Krubally nabs MAAC Rookie of the Week for the second time in her freshman campaign.
In a pair of 3-0 wins at Saint Peter's and Rider, Elliott led the Fairfield attack with 4.50 kills per set. She hit .339 from the pins, putting down 12 kills against the Peacocks and 15 against the Broncs. Elliott had a double-double in both matches en route to 3.50 digs per set, and added two blocks, two assists and a service ace to her stat line.
Elliott wrapped up the regular season averaging 2.61 kills and 2.56 digs per frame, ranking second on the Stags in both categories. She has also had a hand in 35 blocks and served up 26 aces.
Krubally hit a scorching .452 on the right side this past weekend en route to an even 3.00 kills per set. She stung the ball at a .750 clip at Saint Peter's, sending home 10 kills on 12 swings. Krubally added two blocks, two assists and a dig in six sets of work.
Krubally heads into the postseason ranked sixth in the MAAC with a .243 hitting percentage. She averages 2.04 kills and 0.72 blocks per stanza.
Fairfield Volleyball heads into the postseason as the MAAC Regular Season Champion for the 22nd time in the past 28 seasons. The top-seeded Stags have earned a bye to the semifinal round on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. at Leo D. Mahoney Arena. Fairfield will challenge the winner of Friday's opening round featuring Niagara and Rider.
