FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will look to get back to their winning ways when they host the Canisius Golden Griffins on Saturday at noon on Lessing Field. The Stags are coming off their first MAAC loss of the season as they fell 3-1 against in-state rivals Quinnipiac on Wednesday.
About Fairfield:
- The Stags are coming off a 3-1 setback at reigning MAAC Champions Quinnipiac on Wednesday, representing their first MAAC loss of the season.
- The loss also snaps a nine-match regular season unbeaten streak among MAAC opponents. It was their first MAAC regular season loss since October 1, 2022, also against the Bobcats
- Despite the loss, the Stags out-shot Quinnipiac 15-8 in the match. It marked the 14th time in the last 15 MAAC matches that Fairfield has out-shot their opponent.
- Fairfield also had a 9-1 advantage in shots in the first half against the Bobcats. In their first four matches, the Stags are out-shooting their opponents 49-10 in the first half

Allie Kirby notched the lone goal for the Stags to open up the second half, her second goal of the season.

Reagan Klarmann dished out the assist for the Stags, her third of the year and the ninth of her career.
- The Stags lead the MAAC and rank 17th in the country in shots per game (17.9)
About Canisius:
- The Griffs enter the match with a 5-2-4 overall record and a 2-1-1 mark in the conference after most recently coming of a 3-0 win on Senior Day over Iona
- Goalkeeper Jordan Spencer leads the league and ranks eighth in the country in save percentage (.886) while placing 29th in NCAA in goals against average (.588)
