Stags Host Siena in Annual Herd For A Cure Match

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will host the Siena Saints on Wednesday night at 7pm in their annual Herd For A Cure match. During the game, the program will be raising funds for The Cancer Couch Foundation and breast cancer research. T-shirts and raffle tickets will be sold and donations will be collected to support The Cancer Couch Foundation. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to promote breast cancer awareness.
 
About Fairfield:
 
- The Stags enter the match paced third in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with their 4-2-1 record and 13 points.
- Fairfield is coming off a scoreless draw against Marist, their first draw of the MAAC slate. The Stags out-shot the Red Foxes 16-4 and have out-shot every MAAC opponent this season.
- Fairfield leads the MAAC and ranks 19th nationally with 17.5 shots per game.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Wright was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting two shutouts and stopping all three shots she faced. Wright has now tallied five shutouts this year and nine in her career.
- With their two shutouts, the Stags have not allowed a goal in 236 minutes and have out-shot their opponents 45-10 during that span.
 
About Siena:
 
- Siena enters with a 2-2-3 mark in the conference after being edged by league-leading Quinnipiac 3-2 in a close match on Senior Day.
- Megan Stowell is the team leader with four goals and five assists
