SHELTON, Conn. -- The Fairfield University women's rowing team opened the 2023 Fall season at the Sacred Heart Invitational with the Novice 8 highlighting the day by securing the top time in their event. Two varsity 8 crews and two varsity 4 crews also competed during the event that also included Bryant University, Fordham University, the College of the Holy Cross, Marist College, and Sacred Heart University.
The Varsity 8 started the day with the A boat collecting the top time among Fairfield's three entries, crossing the line in 18:22 behind the efforts of Arianna

Lexi Tomlinson. The B shell was next in line for the Stags by covering the distance in 19:09 with Alyssa

The Novice 8 earned the best time of its event by rowing the course in 20:02, a minute better than runner up Marist College (21:11). The Stags boat included

The Varsity 4 saw two strong efforts by the Fairfield crews with the A boat finishing second overall with a time of 20:07. The Stags were represented by Arianna

The Stags will return to the water next weekend when they travel to Head of the Charles on October 21.
