Callie Cavanaugh added 13, but the Fairfield University Women's Basketball team dropped their first game of the year 77-49 at Penn St.
Andrea Hernangomez led the team with six rebounds and
Mimi Rubino dished out a personal-best four assists.
The Stags cut a 20-point second quarter deficit to just nine midway through the third but could not come any closer. Fairfield out-scored the Lady Lions 13-12 in the second quarter and was narrowly clipped 20-18 in the third.
Janelle Brown helped the Stags with their comeback attempt by hitting back-to-back 3-pointers in the third. Cavanaugh and Nicoletti-Leite would follow with layups on the next two possessions to keep the deficit at nine.
Lauren Beach added five points off the bench going 2-for-4 from the floor and drilling a 3-pointer. She also grabbed a rebound and dished out an assist.
Mackenzie Martin went 2-for-3 from the floor with four points off the bench.
The Stags will close out their three-game road trip at Yale on Monday at 7pm.
