RICHMOND, Va. – Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse midfielder
Taylor Strough has been named Preseason All-CAA, as announced on Thursday morning by the Colonial Athletic Association. Strough is a two-time All-CAA selection in his career.
Â
In 2021, Strough ranked second on the Stags with 19 goals, including a team-best four man-up tallies, and distributed four assists en route to All-CAA Second Team laurels. He finished the truncated 2020 season with 24 goals in seven games, posting two or more points in every contest including a pair of five-goal efforts.
Â
Strough's first All-CAA nod came in 2019, when he scored 24 points with seven assists for a career-best 32 points. He scored multiple goals in seven of 14 contests, highlighted by a dazzling six-goal showing at Bryant that included both the equalizer in the closing seconds as well as the overtime game-winner.
Â
The graduate student has been a four-year contributor to the Stags, starting his career with CAA All-Rookie Team laurels after scoring 10 goals with five assists in 2018. In his career to date, he has compiled 78 goals and 18 assists for 96 total points as a Stag.
Â
Thursday's announcement also included the CAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, which saw the Stags slotted at sixth place. Defending CAA Champion Drexel took first in the poll with four first-place votes followed by reigning regular season champ Delaware, which garnered the two remaining top tallies.
Â
UMass, Towson, Hofstra and Fairfield complete the preseason ledger.
