FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team dropped a 4-0 road decision to the Northeastern Huskies. Fairfield managed three shots on goal coming off the feet of
Reagan Klarmann and
Elle Scott.
The Stags kept the Huskies off the scoreboard for the first 38 minutes of the match until Northeastern was able to enter the ball into the box where Alexis Legowski was able to knock the loose ball into the net after the initial shot was blocked.
Fairfield were the aggressors early in the second half as they looked for the equalizer, taking the first three shots of the half.
Lexi Lehan had the best opportunity for the Stags as she drove the ball to the side of the box and tapped a shot to the lower right corner that just went wide.
After leading the Stags with four shots in her collegiate debut,
Reagan Klarmann again led the offense with three shots and two on goal.
The Huskies' first shot of the second half came as Halle McCabe blocked a clearance attempt and the ricochet went over the head of the goalkeeper for Northeastern's second score. The Huskies added to their scoring with a penalty kick and another tally in the final minute.
The Stags will be back in action in the state of Massachusetts when they head to Harvard on Friday at 1pm.
