FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will play their first of three-straight matches in the state of Massachusetts when they visit the Northeastern Huskies on Monday night at 6pm. This will also be the first road contest for the Stags in the 2021 season.
Fairfield will bring a 1-0 record into the match after defeating LIU 2-0 in the season opener on Thursday. The Stags out-shot the Sharks 19-2 including a 10-2 advantage with shots on target. Despite the 19 attempts, the Stags did not score a goal in live action play as both of their scores came on an own goal and a penalty kick three minutes apart.

Elle Scott tallied three shots, all were on goal and
Lexi Lehan had a pair of attempts, including a shot that just sailed over the bar.
Gena Pike recorded the shutout by stopping the only two shots she saw in the evening.
Northeastern dropped their first game of the season with a 2-0 decision against Boston University. The Huskies were selected fourth in the CAA Preseason Poll with three student-athletes being chosen to the Preseason All-CAA squad.
The Stags will continue their tour of the Bay State when they go to Harvard on Friday afternoon at 1pm.
