BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Eleven different student-athletes entered the scoring column as the Fairfield University Women's Basketball team fell to No. 10 Indiana 91-58 at historic Assembly Hall.
Sydney Lowery led the 11 players with 16 points while going a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line.
Fairfield scored the first basket of the game as
Rachel Hakes drove to the basket for a layup. Hakes would also give the Stags another lead just 30 seconds later as her second layup of the game put the Stags in front 4-2.
No. 10 Indiana would take over after that point, rolling off a 23-0 run which was stopped by a
Lou Lopez-Senechal jumper in the closing minute of the first quarter.
The Stags had one of their best offensive period in the second quarter as they rattled off 19 points. Lopez-Senechal led the way with five points in the quarter, the first five for the Stags.
Mackenzie Martin capped the 19-point quarter with her first career 3-pointer in the final minute.
Lowery shined in the third quarter with eight of the team's 11 points.
The Stags would add 20 points in the fourth quarter and actually tie Indiana 20-20 in the period.
To go along with Lowery's team-high 16 points, Lopez-Senechal also entered double figures with 15.
Janelle Brown had an impressive game with career-highs of five rebounds and three steals.
Fairfield also forced 17 Indiana turnovers while only having 12 miscues.
The Stags will now turn their attention to MAAC play when they host reigning MAAC Champions Marist on Saturday Dec. 18 at 2pm.
