Stags Fall at Quinnipiac

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team fell to in-state rivals Quinnipiac 3-0 in the team's final regular season game of the season. With the setback, the Stags finish the conference slate with a 5-4-1 conference record with 16 points. They have clinched either the number five or six seed in the upcoming MAAC Championship Quarterfinals.

The Stags surrendered two goals in the first half and one in the second with the first score coming 23 minutes into the match. Quinnipiac's Markela Bejleri scored the first two goals for the Bobcats, who locked up the second seed in the upcoming championships.

Fairfield was out-shot 14-4 in the contest with two of those attempts reaching the target. Reagan Klarmann and Angela Filosa were the two Stags to have a shot on net in the match, but both were stopped by Quinnipiac goalkeeper Sofia Lospinoso.

The Stags will now travel to either Niagara or Siena for their MAAC Championship Quarterfinal match on Sunday, Oct. 31.
