COLLEGE PARK, Ga. – Fairfield University Men's Basketball alum Landon Taliaferro has been selected by the College Park (Georgia) Skyhawks in the 2021 NBA G League Draft, as announced today by the organization. The Skyhawks are a G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks.
Â
Taliaferro spent his first professional season with KB Kalaja Prizren in Kosovo and Amicale Steinsel in Luxembourg, where he combined to average 21.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 14 games.
Â
"We are excited to add Tyler [Hagedorn] and Landon to our group this year and we believe they complement the rest of our roster," said Tori Miller, general manager of the Skyhawks. "Both players are great shooters and with how we want to play, we believe their shooting will benefit the entire team."
Â
After opening his collegiate career at Laramie County Community College, Taliaferro played two seasons with the Stags, appearing in 61 games. He racked up 742 points (12.2 ppg) and knocked down 153 three-pointers to rank just outside Fairfield's all-time top-10. Taliaferro etched his name into the Fairfield record books on Dec. 1, 2019 when he knocked down a program-record 10 three-pointers en route to 34 points in the Stags' upset of Texas A&M.
Â
Should Taliaferro play in the NBA G League this season, he would be the third Stag to spend time in the league in recent seasons. His former Fairfield teammate Jonathan Kasibabu was most recently a member of the Austin Spurs now playing for Hermine Nantes Atlantique in France's ProB League. Stags' all-time leading scorer Tyler Nelson played in the G League from 2018-2020 before joining the Rostock Seawolves of the German ProA league.
