FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will host their final regular season home game when they take on the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Wednesday night at 7pm. The Stags enter the match fifth in the MAAC standings with 13 points on a 4-3-1 conference record.
Fairfield will try to bounce back after a 2-0 setback at Iona last week. The Stags were forced to play from behind for most of the match after surrendering a goal in the first six minutes. Fairfield tried to push the offensive tempo with 15 corner kicks in the game but only attempted nine shots in the shutout.
The Stags will have two more matches to try and add points, beginning with their matchup against Saint Peter's. Fairfield trails three teams in the MAAC currently tied for second with 15 points, two more than the Stags.
Fairfield ranks third in the MAAC scoring 1.75 goals per game. Individually,
Elle Scott places third in the conference with seven goals.
The Peacocks enter play with a 1-6 record in the MAAC after two-straight 1-0 losses to Iona and Manhattan. Annabelle Adams has started 11 matches in net and holds a .662 save percentage.
The Stags will close out their regular season schedule at Quinnipiac on Wednesday at 2:30 pm.
