FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Volleyball has unveiled its five Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponents for the spring 2021 season. For the 2021 spring campaign, MAAC teams will play a 10-match regular season schedule throughout the month of March. All gamedays will be doubleheaders, and all regular season games will count toward the MAAC standings.
The reigning MAAC Champion Stags will open the season on Sunday, March 7 with a doubleheader against Rider. The twin bill will be held on George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall.
The first road trip of the year sends the Stags to Iona for a pair against the Gaels on March 14 followed by a midweek trek to Niagara for two matches with the Purple Eagles on March 18.
Fairfield's final home matches of the season will be held on campus at the Walsh Athletic Center with a visit from Siena on March 21. The regular season concludes the following Sunday – March 28 – with a doubleheader at in-state MAAC rival Quinnipiac.
The top eight teams will qualify for the 2021 MAAC Championship. The tournament will be contested at the Albany Capital Center in Albany, N.Y. on April 1-3. Fairfield Volleyball is seeking its conference-record 12th MAAC Championship overall and its seventh league title in the last nine campaigns.
