EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Fairfield University Baseball team fell to the Boston College Eagles 20-1 to end a three-game weekend for the Stags. Fairfield will next take the field in the Stetson Invitational to face Harvard, Stetson, and Ohio State.
The Eagles jumped out to six runs in the first inning for the second-straight day and never looked back. They scored at least three runs in four more innings for the comfortable win. Cody Morissette homered twice as part of a four RBI day for the Eagles.
Eli Oliphant was the lone Fairfield pitcher to not allow a run as he kept the Eagles off the board in 1.1 innings allowing two hits.
Fairfield scored their only run in the fourth as
Justin Guerrera reached scoring position on a double and
Dylan Reynolds singled him home. Both members of the duo tallied multi-hits in the setback.
The Stags will head back down South next weekend when they open up their weekend in Stetson, Fla., with a contest against Harvard on Friday at 12:30pm.
