MALIBU, CA. – Fairfield women's tennis saw their most successful season since 2012 come to a close as they were defeated by #6 ranked Pepperdine in the First Round of the NCAA tournament by a score of 0-4.
The Stags fought through doubles but could not tally a win giving the Waves an early 1-0 lead going in to singles play.
In singles,
Aina March fell at the No. 3 spot (1-6, 1-6) against Dzina Milovanovic while
Diana Prinos was defeated at No. 2 Singles (0-6, 2-6) by Jessica Failla. The Waves secured the win as
Jessica Pil dropped the No. 6 Singles match (0-6, 0-6) against Satsuki Takamura.
Fairfield finished their season with an overall record of 14-8 and were 5-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference winning the MAAC Championship for the first time since 2012.
