PENNSAUKEN, Pa. -- The Fairfield University women's rowing team continued its spring schedule by competing at the Cooper River Invitational this morning and afternoon. The varsity 4 highlighted the day by taking second place in its heat and securing a third place finish in the Grand Final.
The Stags were assigned the second heat in this event and secured second with a time of 8:33.92, less than two seconds off the first-place shell occupied by the Fordham crew (8:32.01). Fairfield's performance sent the boat into the Grand Final in which the Stags crossed the line with a time of 8:06.46, behind Delaware (8:03.34) and Fordham (8:06.46). Fairfield also placed two varsity fours in the second/third varsity 4 competition with the second varsity four earning a fourth-place finish in its heat (9:21.35) and the third varsity four securing a third-place run in its heat (9:29.30). The third varsity boat won the
Petite Final over Robert Morris (9:43.55), running the course in 9:20.06. The second varsity captured sixth place in the Grand Final with its time of 9:06.29.

The second varsity eight race started the morning with Fairfield grabbing third place in its heat, taking a time of 7:56.18 which was behind
Bucknell (7:15.85) and Delaware (7:26.49) but ahead of Sacred Heart (8:31.31). The Stags qualified for the Petite Final which ended with a fifth-place finish, taking the course in 7:58.34, Dayton won the event with its run of 7:37.18. The Stags boat included Maggie

The varsity 8 ran later in the day with Fairfield placing fourth in its heat by registering a time of 7:26.06, behind Marist (7:05.45), Duquesne (7:10.85), and George Mason (7:18.10). The Stags qualified for the Petite Final, securing fifth place with its time of 7:24.94. Dayton won the event (7:08.29), followed by
Canisius (7:10.79), George Mason (7:16.12), and Loyola (7:22..05). Fairfield's crew consisted of Carolina
