MEDIA, PA. – Fairfield men's tennis edged Saint Joseph's by a score of 4-3 this evening as they swept doubles play and finished off the Hawks in singles play.
Tyler Shibles and
Lewis Edwards took down Nathan Perrone and Andre Fick by a score of 6-1 in #1 Doubles while
Jeffrey Rodgers and
Allan Magid defeated Johnnie Massart and Eshan Kanetkar 6-3 at #2 Doubles. At #3 Doubles,
Jan Parizek and
Anthony Caputo topped Scott Battaglia and Alex MacNeil 6-4.
In Singles play, the Stags fell at #1 and #3 Singles but followed with three straight wins starting with
Allan Magid who took down Luis Janko (6-3, 7-6) at #4 Singles.
Tyler Shibles then defeated Andre Fick (3-6, 6-4, 7-6) at #2 Singles and
John Hatala sealed the win with a (6-4, 6-4) victory over Scott Battaglia.

Jeff Bricker. "They played their best doubles by far this spring and that point was huge! It was nice to get Anthony back into the doubles lineup as well. In singles, Tyler played with a ton of poise and saved 4 match points in what turned out to be a huge point. We've continued to improve each match so I'm excited to see what tomorrow brings."
Fairfield takes on La Salle tomorrow at 5 p.m. in Philadelphia.
