FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will open up a season-long three match homestand when they welcome the Rider Broncs to campus on Wednesday night. This will be the third match in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) slate for the Stags this season, who picked up a point in their series opener at Manhattan.
 
The Stags were unable to build upon their success against the Jaspers, getting shutout by Quinnipiac 3-0 in their last time out. Fairfield recorded nine shots in the match, led by a pair from Alex Madden, Gabby Diodati, and Julia Kleczkowski. Freshman goalkeeper Aytana Muschajew made six saves in net for Fairfield.
 
Fairfield will look to continue their home dominance, as they come into Wednesday night with a perfect 3-0 record on Lessing Field. Fairfield is out-scoring their opponents 14-3 on Lessing.
 
Rider comes into the match with an even 1-1 record in the MAAC, but did pick up an impressive victory against Monmouth in their conference opener. Kourtney Cunningham leads the team with five of the squad's 14 goals. Valeria Pascuet is right behind her with three scores on the season and is the Broncs' leader with three assists.
 
All-time the Stags are 17-6-1 in the series against Rider, with a perfect 10-0 mark on Lessing Field. Their last setback in the series came in 2015 in overtime.
 
The Stags will continue their three match homestand when the welcome Siena on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7pm.
