Fairfield and UConn Selected to Host 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship Regional at Webster Bank Arena

Committee tabs Bridgeport as a postseason host city for the eighth time

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee has selected Bridgeport, Connecticut and Webster Bank Arena as a regional host site for the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. The regional will be co-hosted by Fairfield University and the University of Connecticut on March 25-28, 2022.

The 2022 Bridgeport Regional will be the eighth NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship event hosted at Webster Bank Arena. Fairfield previously hosted regional championship action at the venue in 2006, 2013, 2016 and 2017 as well as first- and second-round games in 2004, 2008, and 2012. Fairfield has also hosted NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship play at Webster Bank Arena on four occasions, and the Stags will host three NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship events at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford from 2019-22.

The other regional sites for the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship are Greensboro Coliseum (Greensboro, N.C.), Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena (Spokane, Wash.) and Intrust Bank Arena (Wichita, Kan.).
