Jack Jones Receives ECAC Irving T. Marsh Award

Jones has been at Fairfield since 1997

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Associate Director of Athletics Jack Jones has been recognized by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) with the Irving T. Marsh Award at the annual ECAC-SIDA workshop earlier this month in Burlington, Vermont. Jones has been a part of the Fairfield Athletic Communications office since 1997.

"Jack is an excellent communications professional who is well respected in the community and has worked tirelessly for Fairfield University for many years," said Zach Dayton, Fairfield's Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications. "I appreciate his dedication and leadership every day, and I am thrilled that the ECAC has presented him with this honor."

In addition to his tenure serving all of the University's varsity athletic programs, Jones has been an integral part of Fairfield's hosting responsibilities for numerous NCAA Women's Basketball and Men's Ice Hockey postseason events, including several as the Media Coordinator. He is currently the longest tenured active Sports Information Director in the MAAC and one of the longest tenured employees in the Fairfield Department of Athletics.

Jones has been in the Athletic Communications field since 1985, working at Purdue University, Princeton University, Glassboro State (now Rowan University) and the University of New Haven prior to joining the Stags.

The Irving T. Marsh Awards are given annually to ECAC-SIDA members who, in the opinion of the membership and Executive Board, have exhibited excellence in the field of sports information.
