FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Soccer Head Coach
David Barrett has announced his first recruiting class as a Stag and it involves thirteen new signings for the Class of 2023. The new additions come to Fairfield after enjoying championship careers in high school and gaining experience in some of the best club teams around the northeast.
"I am really excited about this class of players," Coach Barrett said. :I think it is diverse, athletic, and has a variety of soccer experiences that will prove really valuable to us next fall. I can't wait to work with them all in August!"
Rachel Dobricki – Forward – Manlius, N.Y.
Club: Syracuse Development Academy High School: Fayetteville – Manlius
As a two-year captain at Fayetteville – Manlius, Dobricki totaled 36 career goals and 13 career assists as a five-year varsity starter. The final tally of her high school career was the biggest as she netted the game-winning goal with just over two minutes remaining in the NYSPHSAA Section III Title Game, their first championship in 22 years. Through her career, she was a two-time All-League and All-Section honoree and was also earned a spot on the All NY-State and All-Central New York squads.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Rachel gives us depth on attack. She can play middle or out wide and will be a strong addition to our attacking corps."
Olivia Homan – Defender – Allendale, N.J.
Club: Match Fit Academy ECNL High School: Northern Highlands
Homan's four-year high school career at Northern Highlands featured three New Jersey State Championships, four State Sectional titles, four league titles, and more than 60 shutouts. The defender helped the Highlands to a No. 1 national ranking in the USA Today / United Soccer Coaches Super 25 rankings in September. For her accomplishments on the pitch, Homan received All-NJ State honors twice and was named to the All-County First Team three times. She was also selected to play in the 2018 All-American High School Game.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Olivia is a really solid defender. She played with a very successful high school and club team so we are really excited to add Olivia to the team. We think she will be a good addition and will compete right away."
Josie Horosky – Defender/Midfielder – Lakeville, Conn.
Club: CFC ECNL High School: Housatonic Regional
As a defender and midfielder, Horosky recorded 45 career goals and dished out 35 career assists as a three-time All-State and All-Conference player. She also saw success in the club ranks as a five-year starter for the CFC ECNL teams where she would help lead the U16 and U17 teams to the National Finals.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Josie is a mobile and dynamic player who can cover ground as a midfielder or in the back. We are excited to have her as a Stag!"
Brooke Jones – Forward/Midfielder – Duxbury, Mass.
Club: South Shore Select SC High School: Duxbury
Jones led Duxbury with 40 goals and 45 assists in her career, earning her two team MVP awards and an Offensive MVP honor in her junior season. She was a three-time Patriot League All-Star and was named to the First Team Eastern Mass All-Star team after her junior and senior campaigns. She also earned First Team All-State laurels after her senior year. She also has played with her club team South Shore Select SC since 2006 and helped them to two State Cup Championships and the 2018 NPL League title.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Brooke is a good goal scorer who can play as a striker or attacking midfielder. She has a good attacking presence and a nose for the goal. She will give us another really good attacking option because of her versatility."
Allie Landino – Forward/Midfielder – Ridgefield, N.J.
Club: NEFC High School: Northfield Mount Hermon
Landino captained the 2017 NJ ODP U17 State Team and was selected to the Region I Olympic Development team. She was also named to the WWNEPSSA All-Star Game in 2017. She also helped her team to a CSA U23 EDP Women's Super Club North Championship in 2018. As a four-year varsity starter at Northfield Mount Hermon, Landino tallied over 20 goals and led the squad to a NEPSAC Class A New England Tournament Appearance.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Allie is a good athlete who is versatile and can play out wide or in the middle. She will give us pace and athleticism and work rate on the flanks."
Kayla Leary – Defender – East Meadow, N.Y.
Club: East Meadow SC ECNL High School: East Meadow
Leary was named the 2018 Playoff MVP after helping the East Meadow Lady Jets to a spot in the title game after heading in the game's first goal in the semifinals. She was an All-State First team selection and also earned a spot on the All-Long Island First Team twice.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Kayla is another very solid and capable defender in the group that will challenge for playing time as a central or wide defender."
Madison McClenathan – Goalkeeper – Delevan, Wisc.
Club: FC 1974 High School: Badger
A goalkeeper from Wisconsin, McClenathan was a three-year varsity starter who was named team captain during her junior season. She was named the Walworth County Athlete of the Week numerous times and helped her squad to the 2015 IL State Championship.
Coach Barrett Comments: "I'm excited with the addition of Madison to the team. I've known her for a long time and I have seen her develop. She is a solid goalkeeper with good size, good hands, and a lot of potential."
Shannon McWilliams – Defender – Delafield, Wisc.
Club: SC Waukesha High School: Catholic Memorial
McWilliams helped Catholic Memorial to two Wisconsin State Championships and a runner-up finish as a four-year starter and team captain. In 2017, Catholic Memorial did not surrender a goal in any of the six postseason outings, out-scoring their opponents 46-0 over that span. In high school, McWilliams was named to the All-Conference First Team as a senior and the Second Team as a junior. She also captained her club squad SC Waukesha, helping them to a state championship in 2018, after finishing runners-up in three-straight seasons.
Coach Barrett Comments: "We are excited to get a quality player from a really good club in the midwest and think she will offer different skill sets to the team. She is athletic, a good passer and is strong in the air. She will also compete right away for playing opportunities."
Kristi Mikula – Midfielder – Freehold, N.J.
Club: Match Fit Academy ECNL High School: Colts Neck
A dynamic midfielder from New Jersey, Mikula tallied 35 career goals as a four-year starter at Colts Neck High School. She was named team captain during her senior season where she was also selected as a Division All-Star player. She also helped her team to a state championship during her stay and earned a spot on the 2017 All-Division team. She also helped her club team Match Fit Academy to the 2015 National Championship.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Kristi is a very fast and dynamic wide player. She can go at defenders with her pace and she is a good athlete. We can use her abilities in attack and in defending if needed."
Corrin Motyka – Defender – Hoboken, N.J.
Club: NYCFC DA High School: Notre Dame
Motyka was selected to the first All Girls Showcase Team representing the New York Red Bulls for six seasons. She was a US Club Soccer National Champion with IGFA in 2015 and a former member of the ODP Regional Team. At Notre Dame High School, she was a two-time team MVP and helped her squads to two CHSAA Class Championships. She currently starts for the NYCSC Girls Development Academy.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Corrin is a steady, solid and composed defender. She is also versatile and can play in the middle or out wide. She is a smart player with excellence club soccer experience."
Mikayla Obrist – Defender/Midfielder – Beaver, Pa.
Club: Beadling SC High School: Beaver Area HS
Obrist will come to Fairfield after being a two-year captain at Beaver Area High School. One of her most defining high school moments came on Senior Night when Obrist tallied the game-winning goal with 15 seconds left on the clock in one of her final home games of her high school career. She was also a two-time All-WPIAL selection and a three-time All-Section honoree.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Mikayla is a tough defender and is good in the air. She is a really strong athlete who can play center-back or perhaps even a holding midfielder. She will add another dimension as a defender for our group."
Gena Pike – Goalkeeper – Morristown, N.J.
Club: PDA ECNL High School: Morristown Beard Academy
Pike was named the team MVP after leading her team to the North Jersey Non-Public B Championship in 2018, the school's first Group Title. Pike was a goalkeeper for the squad, but also spent time as a field player, even scoring the game-winning goal in the Championship match. She was also an All-Conference First Team selection and also earned a spot on the All-County team.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Gena comes from a soccer family and is a very good athlete who also played in the field for her high school team. I think she also brings great potential as a goalkeeper and I see her fitting in very well."
Hannah Vogt – Forward – Halifax, Mass.
Club: South Shore Select SC High School: Silver Lakes Regional
Vogt will graduate Silver Lakes Regional in the top-five all-time in career points coming from 49 goals and 19 assists in her four-year varsity career. The senior captain and Eastern Mass All-Star also scored at least one goal against every opponent she faced in high school. An integral member of South Shore Select SC, Vogt helped her team to the 2017 National Cup Championship.
Coach Barrett Comments: "Hannah is a clever and dynamic player on attack. She is also versatile and is definitely a presence in helping us go forward."
