Stags Start Final Homestand with Siena, Marist This Weekend

First serve for both matches is slated for 1 p.m.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Volleyball will close the 2018 regular season with a four-match Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) homestand, beginning this weekend with visits from Siena and Marist. First serve for both contests on George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall is slated for 1 p.m.

The Stags enter the stretch run with a record of 9-5 in the MAAC as a part of a 10-13 overall tally. With one more MAAC win this fall, Fairfield would solidify its 23rd consecutive season with a winning conference record dating back to 1996. Marist owns the second longest active streak with five consecutive winning campaigns (2013-17) in conference play.

"Consistency will be a key for us this weekend and going forward," said Head Coach Todd Kress. "We have moments where we look very good, but then we have moments where we'll give up five or six points in a row. When we're going at it defensively and scoring in transition, I think we're pretty tough to beat. Unfortunately, we're making too many errors in runs, and that's holding back a lot of the positive things that we're doing on the court."

Fairfield swept both Siena and Marist on the road earlier this season. The Stags lead the all-time series with the Saints, 40-18, and are 42-7 all-time against the Red Foxes.
