FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Tennis earned a dual match victory over crosstown foe Sacred Heart, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon at the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts. The Stags improved to 2-1 in head-to-head action following the win in their final dual of the fall slate.

The Stags took an early advantage, claiming the doubles points with a pair of triumphs. The tandem of
Lewis Edwards and
Tyler Shibles was victorious at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, while
Brad Orban and
Jeffrey Rodgers won at No. 2 to seal the point.

In singles action, the Stags grabbed wins from Shibles (No. 2), Edwards (No. 3) and Rodgers (No. 4) to clinch the 4-3 win.

"We fought well today under tough weather conditions for both teams," said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "We stepped up our doubles play after our last match, which I was very pleased with. In singles, Tyler stepped his game up in the third set which was huge for us. Overall, it's great to get a win and we can move into the winter with another dual match victory."

The Stags will wrap up their fall slate a the Connecticut Open Championships hosted by Yale from Nov. 2-4 in New Haven.
