FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Volleyball will celebrate its nine Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship teams on Saturday, Oct. 7 in conjunction with the Stags' meeting with Quinnipiac on George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall. All returning student-athletes from those championship teams will be recognizing on the court during intermission of the Stags' 5 p.m. match against their in-state MAAC foe. Following the match, there will be a reception at Alumni House that will include the 2016 MAAC Champion Stags receiving their championship rings.
"This program has been one of great tradition, and it's great to finally be able to acknowledge that tradition and to honor the alumnae that have contributed to the success of Fairfield Volleyball over the years," said Head Coach
Todd Kress.
Kress was at the helm of the Stags for four MAAC Championships, winning back-to-back titles in 1997 and 1998 and then again upon his return to Fairfield in 2015 and 2016. In total, Fairfield won a conference-record five straight MAAC Championships from 1997-2001 and then added consecutive titles in 2012 and 2013 and then in 2015 and 2016.
