FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Director of Athletics Gene Doris has announced the hiring of
Ryan Moynihan '17
as a graduate assistant for athletic communications and digital strategy. Moynihan graduated from Fairfield this past May with a degree in film, television and media and a minor in sports management.
"We are excited to have Ryan join our marketing and communications team" said
Zach Dayton, Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications. "Ryan brings a very broad skill set in photography and video from his time as an undergrad at Fairfield working with our media center, which will enhance our digital strategy moving forward."
In addition to his duties helping to shape the digital profile of Fairfield Athletics, Moynihan will serve as the communications contact for field hockey, swimming and diving and tennis.
Moynihan spent his time at Fairfield creating short films and working with the Fairfield University Media Center to produce promotional and marketing content for the University. He was also integral to the team that produced live Fairfield Basketball broadcasts for SNY and ESPN3, filling multiple roles including camera operator and director. When he wasn't behind the camera or in the broadcast truck, Moynihan was on the court as a practice player for Fairfield women's basketball.
"Ryan's drive, enthusiasm for Stags sports and passion for broadcasting will prove to be a big win for Fairfield Athletics and its fans. Expect big things," said Casey Timmeny '99, Director of the Media Center.
For his graduate studies, Moynihan will pursue a master's degree in communication.
