Cyclone Headlines
-The Big 12 Conference reinstated its softball championship for the 2017 season. Last held in 2010, the postseason tournament will returns to Oklahoma City in a two-day event, Friday, May 12 - Saturday, May 13 at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.

-Last time out, the Cyclones completed a three-game sweep of Kansas at the Cyclone Sports Complex to close out the 2017 regular season. It was the program's first Big 12 series sweep since the 2013 season.

-Three of Iowa State's six Big 12 wins came in walk-off fashion, including game three vs. Kansas, in which the Cyclones rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to win on a walk-off RBI single by freshman Sami Williams.

-Williams was named to the 2017 All-Big 12 First Team after her stand-out rookie campaign. She was one of three freshmen to garner first team accolades and is just the second newcomer in program history to be named to the first team. She is also a finalist for the 2017 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year.

-Williams broke Iowa State's single-season school record with her 17th double of the season in game two vs. Texas. Williams now ranks T-No. 4 nationally and No. 1 among all NCAA DI freshmen in doubles with 19.

-Emma Hylen is having perhaps the finest stretch of her career right now. The sophomore is 6-1  in her last eight starts, including four conference wins. In two games against Texas, Hylen allowed just one earned run in 14.0 innings of action, leading ISU to its first-ever series win vs, UT.

-The Cyclones not only stole the series vs. UT, they also stole six bases to break the single-season school record of 89 (2013). The season total is now at 99 stolen bases,  lead by Cathlin Bingham (20), Megan Schweitzer (17), Kelsey McFarland (16).

-Emma Hylen was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week following a 2-0 weekend to help Iowa State sweep Kansas. Hylen is the first player in program history to be named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week twice in the same season.
