At the faceoff 'X', Will Fox won 7-of-15 draws and Joe DeLasho scooped up three of his six attempts.
Scouting Quinnipiac
Saturday's 11-5 home loss to Marquette snapped a three-game winning streak for Quinnipiac, which brings a 3-2 record down I-95 to meet the Stags. The Bobcats went 7-8 last spring, falling to top-seeded Marist in the MAAC Championship Game.
This spring, 2015 MAAC All-Rookie Team honoree Brian Feldman has scored a team-leading 11 goals for the Bobcats. Ryan Keenan shares the team high in points with Feldman after netting six goals with five assists through five games this season. Connor Meth adds nine points courtesy of six goals and three assists.
Jack Brust has started every game in the cage, posting a 10.77 goals-against average and a .495 save percentage. Backup goalkeeper Maximillian Smith has spent 11:40 between the posts, ceding two goals with one save.
Will Vitelli has taken the majority of the draws for the Bobcats, winning 46-of-94 faceoffs (.489). Connor Devane has handled 18 attempts (5-18, .278) and Riley Palmer took a pair (0-2) at the 'X'.
Stags vs. Bobcats
Fairfield's 15-10 win during the 2014 season ran the all-time series to 5-1 in favor of the Stags. The series began with a 15-2 Fairfield victory to open the 1999 campaign.
The Bobcats' only win in the series was an 11-10 overtime decision in 2010 - the one season in which Fairfield and Quinnipiac were conference foes in the ECAC Lacrosse League. The Stags have won four straight meetings with their in-state rival.
Non-Conference Finale
The Stags will close out their 2016 non-conference schedule this Saturday, March 26 at No. 6 Villanova. Faceoff from Villanova Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
Fairfield will open the CAA slate at Hofstra on the following Saturday, April 2, before returning home to host Drexel on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium on Saturday, April 9 at 3 p.m. That game is the back-end of a doubleheader that will feature Fairfield women's lacrosse hosting MAAC opponent Siena at noon. Both ends of the twin bill will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
