FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted members of the Special Olympics this past Friday in Alumni Hall. Student-athletes from varsity teams including field hockey, swimming and diving, men's basketball, cross country and golf were on hand to run dodgeball and basketball games throughout the evening.

"Our partnership with the Special Olympics is an event we look forward to each year,” stated SAAC officer and senior field hockey student-athlete Erin Connors. “We were very pleased with the turnout and SAAC as an organization looks forward to continuing this partnership in years to come." 

Following the evening of games at Alumni Hall, SAAC and the Special Olympians celebrated together with a pizza party.

The partnership between SAAC and the Special Olympics enters its fifth year. The formation of this event was piloted by alumni Steve Flanagan '12 (cross country) and Emily Orr '13 (softball).
