FAiRFIELD, Conn. -- The men's and women's varsity 8 and men's second varsity 8 received weekly honors from the MAAC following their performance at the Sacred Heart Invitational.
At the Sacred Heart Invitational, the Stags secured first place with a time of 8:57.30, seven seconds better than the runner up. The varsity 8 boat included coxswain Nicole Karwashan and rowers Jaclyn Ozyjowski, Sarah Bucklen, Gabby Piatek, Maria Levano, Jacquie Moser, Carmen Fox, Liz Franger, and Casey Bowler.
On the men's side, Fairfield's varsity 8 earned the honor after a first-place run at the Sacred Heart Invitational. The Stags won the race with a time of 7:37.1, edging out the Fairfield B crew by just three seconds. The Stags' lineup included coxswain Tim Valente and rowers Chris McCool, John Cervone, Nick Greco, Jack Packhem, Greg Coppola, Trent Domingos, Tanner Child, and Pat Mills.
The men's second varsity 8 collected the MAAC's weekly honor by placing 2nd with a time of 7:40.4 just behind their varsity 8 teammates. The second Varsity 8 lineup was comprised by coxswain Connor Kim and rowers Tom Siddall, Bobby Lawler, Sam Sullivan, Herbie Marache, Cameron Shalkowski, James Laviolette, John O'Neill, and Mike Giuliana.
