Sixty-Eight Percent of Student-Athletes Achieve a 3.0 in Spring

Fairfield University's student-athletes excelled in the classroom once again with 68 percent achieving at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) during the Spring 2014 semester. In all, 304 student-athletes, including 25 with perfect a 4.0 GPA, earned spots in the Athletic Department's 3.0 Club while 150 of those student-athletes were named to the University's Dean's List.

Women's Rowing led all programs with 32 student-athletes in the 3.0 Club while Women's Lacrosse had 29 student-athletes on the list. Men's Rowing had 25 student-athletes achieve a 3.0 GPA while Men's Lacrosse had 22 included.

Women's Soccer had 23 student-athletes in the 3.0 Club while 14 of those earned a place on the Fairfield University's Dean's List. Women's Swimming & Diving saw 16 of their 22 student-athletes in the 3.0 Club achieve Dean's List status.

Baseball had 20 student-athletes achieve at least a 3.0 GPA. Other notables include Volleyball which had nine of their 12 student-athletes earn a 3.0. Women's Cross Country which had 12 of their 19 student-athletes reaching 3.0 status.

Eight of the 10 members of the Women's Golf team reached 3.0 while 11 of the 12 on the Men's Golf team achieved a 3.0. Softball had 16 in the 3.0 Club while Field Hockey had 11 selections. Women's basketball had seven student-athletes post a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
