Box Score BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team jumped out to an early lead but could not sustain it against Canisius College as the Golden Griffs posted an 84-58 win over the Stags at Webster Bank Arena.

Fairfield scored the first seven points of the game, five of which came from Justin Jenkins. Zach Lewis put Canisius on the board at the 17:51 mark with a layup that made the score 7-2. Jenkins added another basket to push the lead back to seven points at 9-2 before the Griffs went on a 9-0 run that gave the visitors their first lead at 10-9 with 14:56 on the clock.

Marcus Gilbert followed with a three pointer on a possession that included three offensive rebounds for the Stags. Canisius tied the game at 15-15 and the game was still tied at 17-17 before Lewis made a three pointer that made the score 20-17 in Canisius' favor. The Golden Griffs would never trail again in the game.
