LIU Brooklyn (5-4) led for nearly all of the opening stanza. After Annika Foit's kill made it 5-4, the Blackbirds would not trail the rest of the set, going on to a 25-20 win.

Fairfield countered with an impressive second set in which the Stags hit a collective .346. With the score tied 8-8, an ace by Romansky sparked an 11-2 Fairfield run. The Stags never looked back as they cruised to the 25-15 win.

In the third set, the score was resting at 15-15 when the Blackbirds put together an 8-1 run. That was all the room LIU Brooklyn needed as it went on to a 25-18 win. In the fourth frame, the score was tied at 6-6 when a 7-0 run by the Blackbirds tilted the set in their favor. LIU Brooklyn went on to the 25-15 win.
