Sixty-Seven Percent of Student-Athletes Named To 3


Fairfield University's student-athletes excelled in the classroom once again with 67 percent achieving at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) during the Spring 2013 semester. In all, 290 student-athletes earned spots in the Athletic Department's 3.0 Club while 137 of those student-athletes were named to the University's Dean's List.

Women's Rowing led all programs with 30 student-athletes in the 3.0 Club, with 13 earning Dean's List status. Women's Lacrosse had 27 student-athletes on the list while Men's Lacrosse had 23 student-athletes to lead the men's programs.

Women's Swimming & Diving each had 21 student-athletes included in the 3.0 Club, 13 of which also earned Dean's List status. Women's Soccer had 19 student-athletes earn a 3.0 while 13 of those earned a spot on the Fairfield University's Dean's list.

Other notables include Women's Cross Country which had 13 of their 17 student-athletes reaching 3.0 status. Nine of the 10 members of the Women's Golf team reached 3.0 while 12 of the 15 on the Men's Golf team achieved a 3.0. Softball had 17 of its 20 student-athletes post a GPA of 3.0 while Field Hockey had 13 selections. Baseball had 16 members in the 3.0 Club while men's rowing had 15.

Volleyball had the highest team GPA of any program, recording a 3.64. They had nine members in the 3.0 Club, six of which also earned Dean's List status. Men's Tennis had the highest GPA out of all the men's programs, turning in a collective 3.46.
