FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Fairfield University senior Hayley Moyer was selected to Capital One Academic All-District 1 Women's Volleyball Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Moyer is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America® consideration.

Moyer, a politics major with minors in math and art history, has excelled in the classroom. She boasts a 3.91 GPA and is a member of the Alpha Sigma Pi Honor Society and the Pi Epsilon Mu Honor Society. The two-time MAAC All-Academic selection has been named to the Fairfield University Dean's List every semester.

On the court, Moyer is having a solid season for the Stags, starting all 25 matches. The middle blocker is hitting a MAAC-best .347 and averaging 2.09 kills per set. She's also posted 55 total blocks this season along with 10 aces. For her career, Moyer stands eighth all-time at Fairfield in block assists (203) and is approaching the Stags' top-10 in total blocks as she currently has 224. Moyer is also seventh all-time in career attack percentage (.271). She's also recorded 679 kills, 166 digs, and 58 service aces.

Moyer is the first Stag since Lauren Balmert to earn Academic All-District status. Balmert earned the honor in three consecutive seasons between 2009-11.

Fairfield (14-13; 11-3 MAAC) is currently riding an 11-match winning streak entering its final weekend at home. The Stags host Manhattan College in a first-place battle on November 9 at 1pm in Alumni Hall. Fairfield hosts Iona College on November 10 at 1pm in Alumni Hall on Senior Day. Prior to the match, which will be streamed live on MAAC.tv, the Stags will honor their seniors, including Moyer.
