The Fairfield University women's soccer team remained unbeaten at home and in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play after a 0-0 double-overtime draw with Quinnipiac University on Lessing Field Wednesday night. The Stags are now 6-4-1 overall and 2-0-1 in league play, while the Bobcats are now 2-4-3 on the season and 2-0-2 in MAAC action.

Fairfield controlled play for large portions of the game and finished with a 16-9 advantage in shots and an 11-3 edge in corner kicks, but could not get the ball past Natalia Grodzki (Bartlett, Ill.). The Quinnipiac keeper made eight saves in the game, stopping five in the first-half itself to maintain the clean sheet. Fairfield keeper Kathleen Early (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) was equally as good, making five saves, with three before halftime.

The tie keeps the Stags unbeaten at home, 4-0-1, which equals the program's best start which came in 1999. The 1997 Fairfield team posted the programs best-ever home record going 9-1-0 after losing the home opener.

Fairfield plays its third consecutive unbeaten league opponent when it travels to Monmouth University on Saturday. The Hawks, 6-0 winners over Manhattan Wednesday night, are 9-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 in league play. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
