Katie Cizynski posted her second-straight double-double finishing with 17 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. The victory was the 300th of Head Coach
Joe Frager's collegiate coaching career.
Frager is 111-64 in his sixth season at the helm of the Stags, who improve to 10-6 overall and 4-1 in the MAAC this season. He is 300-147 in his 15 seasons coaching at the NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II level.

Brittany Obi-Tabot scored in double figures for the third-straight game, netting 18 points. She also grabbed eight rebounds, just missing a double-double. Junior
Alexys Vazquez finished with 12 points, going 6-for-6 from the free throw line and 2-for-3 from long range. Vazquez also had seven rebounds.
Fairfield led early, but Iona used an 11-0 run over a 3:44 span to overtake the Stags, 13-7, with 11:07 left in the half. Senior
Brittany MacFarlane ended the scoreless streak with a pair of free throws at 10:37 while Cizynski tied it with back-to-back buckets just over a minute later. Fairfield regained the lead, 14-13, at 7:48 on a free throw by Obi-Tabot while
Felicia DaCruz capped off an 11-0 run at 6:36 on a fast break jumper.
The Gaels (8-8; 3-2 MAAC) ended their five-minute scoring drought at 5:42 on a lay-up by Aaliyah Robinson. Fairfield used another 6-0 run late in the half to extend its lead to 27-19. With 11 ticks left on the clock Obi-Tabot forced an Iona turnover under the basket and put in the easy lay-up for her 11th point of the half. Iona then raced down the court and Robinson hit a jumper at the buzzer to pull Iona within 31-26 at the break.
After trading baskets to start the second half, the Stags opened up a 43-34 advantage on a lay-up by Cizynski at 13:38. Vazquez gave Fairfield double-digit lead, 46-36, at 10:32 with a three-pointer. Iona surged back, pulling within 48-45 on consecutive baskets by Aleesha Powell while Damika Martinez made it a one-point game with 4:34 left on the clock.
Vazquez stopped Iona's run with a pair of free throws at 4:09. Obi-Tabot hit a pair of free throws a minute later to make it a 52-47 Fairfield advantage. Cizynski gave the Stags a 54-47 lead at 2:25 with a lay-up. Iona cut it to four points, 54-50, with 1:22 remaining. Fairfield held off Iona the rest of the way for its third-straight win..

Katelyn Linney had seven points while MacFarlance had two points and three assists.
Fairfield returns to action on January 20 when Manhattan College visits Alumni Hall at 2pm on Take a Kid to the Game Day.
