POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – After scuffling a bit in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action last week, the Fairfield University volleyball team got back on track this evening with an impressive 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-16) victory at Marist College. Sophomore Camille Coffey finished with a match-high 10 kills on .444 hitting to go along with six digs.

With her 14 digs on the night, senior libero Kara Reis surpassed former Stag Lauren Laramore for second all-time on Fairfield's career digs chart. Currently, Reis has 1,622 career digs and is closing in on the program record of 1,674 which was set by Lindsey Lee in 2007.

Fairfield (8-7; 3-2 MAAC) set the tone early, taking a commanding 10-3 lead to start the match. The Stags were too much for the Red Foxes as Fairfield cruised to the 25-11 win after hitting a collective .433 with 15 kills and just two errors in 30 chances.

The Stags continued their dominance in the second set, surging to a 16-6 lead to start things off. Marist was unable to recover as Fairfield rolled to the 25-17 victory. The 10-minute intermission did not slow down the Stags as they opened the third set on a 13-4 run. Marist cut the gap to six points, 16-10, but Fairfield countered with a 5-1 run. That was all the room the Stags needed as they went on to the 25-16 victory.

Fairfield held Marist to just 21 kills and a minus-.011 attack percentage while the Stags posted 38 kills on .266 hitting. Fairfield out-blocked Marist, 8-2, and had eight service aces on the night.

Junior setter Rachel Romansky also moved up Fairfield's career chart this evening after finishing with 32 assists. Romansky surpassed Kelly Sorenson for third all-time on the career assist chart, bringing her career total to 2,877.

Junior Hayley Moyer finished with eight kills on .467 hitting and four total blocks while senior Brianna Dixion added eight kills and two total blocks.

Sophomore Marilyn Peizer registered seven kills and set career-highs with seven digs and four total blocks. Sophomore Lindsay Weaver chipped in four total blocks.

Fairfield closes out its five-match road swing this weekend, traveling to Rider University on Saturday and Loyola University Maryland on Sunday.
