#16 Stags Face Top-Seeded Loyola For ECAC Crown Fr

Game Notes

The #16 Fairfield University men's lacrosse team will play for the ECAC Lacrosse League Championship against top-seeded and #3 Loyola University Maryland at 6 p.m. ET on Friday live on ESPNU and ESPN3.  The Stags, who have won a program-best 12 games this season, are playing in the ECAC title game for the second time in as many seasons.

Fairfield defeated #17 and second-seeded Ohio State on Wednesday night 8-7.  Sam Snow and John Snellman both tallied hat tricks in the victory, while Charlie Cipriano stopped 14 shots.

The Stags and Greyhounds met last season in the ECAC semifinal, also at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium, with Fairfield earning a 10-9 victory.

Fairfield is 6-0 in one goal games this season, with four overtime victories.  The Stags are 12-0 when scoring more than seven goals in a game.

The Stags have appeared in two NCAA Tournaments, winning the Great West Lacrosse League in 2002 and 2005.
