FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Stags Country, a 30-minute sports magazine show that highlights Fairfield University athletics will begin its new season this weekend. The show will air on the entire Sportsnet New York (SNY) footprint on December 23 beginning at 11 am. The show will air four additional times on SNY Connecticut later in the month. The show will also air nationally on DIRECTV on December 23.

The Emmy-nominated show features Fairfield University student-athletes in life on and off the field or court. This edition will include a feature on field hockey sophomore Felicitas Heinen, men's soccer student-athletes Jonny Raj, Jordan Ayris, and Michael O'Keeffe, women's basketball freshman Kristin Schatzlein, as well as the volleyball team's run to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship and berth to the NCAA tournament.

The show is hosted by Noah Finz, who is the sports director at WTNH-TV Channel 8 in New Haven. Stags Country is produced by the Fairfield University media center which includes a combination of the department's staff and students. This edition marks the eighth show since the program debuted in 2009-10.
