Strumpf Cheney is one of the legendary women's basketball players. She is Fairfield's all-time leading scorer with 1,873 points, collecting her final points during the Stags magical run to an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2001. She also hauled in 1,106 rebounds in her four-years, ranking second on that list. She is also third all-time in blocks with 244, first all-time in free throws made (455) and finished her career with 184 assists and 149 steals. Strumpf Cheney was the 2000 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Year, the 1998 Rookie of the Year, a three-time All-MAAC First Team selection, a three-time MAAC All-Tournament Team pick, and a three-time Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) All-Met selection.
Sarosy remains one of the greatest softball players to ever don a Stags uniform. Sarosy holds the Fairfield records for hits (252), singles (236), runs (128), and stolen bases (112). A career .343 hitter, Sarosy was named the MAAC Player of the Year in 2002 and 2003 and helped Fairfield to four MAAC Tournament appearances. In addition, she was a two-time All-MAAC First Team selection, a two-time MAAC All-Academic selection, and garnered All-ECAC and all-region honors as well.
Cluff is one of only two Stags to earn All-MAAC honors all four years in a soccer uniform, including three All-MAAC First Team selections. The two-time MAAC Player of the Year helped Fairfield to a pair of MAAC Championships and NCAA Tournaments. She is second all-time in career goals with 36, which includes 12 game-winners, is third all-time in points with 88, and tied for eighth in assists with 16. The three-time MAAC All-Tournament Team selection was named the MVP of the 1998 tournament after propelling the Stags to victory as a rookie. As a sophomore, she was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Northeast First Team and remains one of three Stags to ever earn that honor.
Groarke helped the Stags to three-straight MAAC Lacrosse League titles and two ECAC Tournament crowns during his four years on the Fairfield attack. Groarke is Fairfield's career assists leader with 119, is second all-time with 225 points, and third all-time in goals with 106. The two-year captain garnered accolades all four seasons with the Stags, being named the MAAC Rookie of the Year in 1996, All-MAAC in 1997, the ECAC Tournament MVP in 1998, and played in the prestigious USILA North-South All-Star game as senior in 1998.
