Game Notes
The Fairfield University men's lacrosse team, 5-5, heads to Hartford on Tuesday for its final road non-conference game of the year versus the University of Hartford, 7-4. Both teams are coming off of hard-fought conference losses and look to snap a one-game slide.
Tuesday's game is the ninth all-time meeting between the two schools in men's lacrosse, with Hartford holding a 6-2 edge. The Stags, winners of two of the last three games, earned a 12-9 win at home when the squads met last spring. The first meeting of the series was in 1993, a 22-6 Hawks victory, as Hartford won the first five games between the two teams. Fairfield broke through in 1998, with a 13-11 win at home, but is 0-4 all-time in games played on the road in the series.
The game is the Stags fourth contest against a fellow member of the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Fairfield is 2-1 in those games, with home wins over Quinnipiac and Vermont and a loss on the road versus Bryant. In last week's NEILA Coaches Poll Fairfield ranked seventh.
