Volleyball Blanks Saint Peter's To Win Sixth Conse

JERSEY, CITY, N.J. –
The Fairfield University volleyball team won its sixth-straight with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-14) decision over Saint Peter's College this afternoon.
 
The Stags, which dominated the winless Peahens during the match, improve to 18-9 overall and to 15-2 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with the victory.
 
Sophomore Hayley Moyer had a season-high 11 kills with no errors in 14 attempts for a .786 attack percentage to lead Fairfield. Senior Haililani Pokipala had her fourth double-double of the season finishing with 11 kills and 10 digs.
 
Setter Rachel Romansky recorded 35 assists, three kills, six digs, two blocks, and a pair of aces while freshman Caitlin Stapleton had eight kills. On defense, libero Kara Reis tallied 16 digs.
 
Fairfield, which has won 15 of its last 17 matches, closes out the regular season at Iona College on November 12. The Stags, who have secured the No. 2 seed, will travel to the 2011 MAAC Volleyball Championship, November 19-20, in Jersey City, N.J.
