ALBANY, N.Y. –The Fairfield University field hockey dropped their second conference road game with a 4-0 decision against 16th-ranked University at Albany.
The Great Danes tallied their game winning goal in the ninth minute of the match off assists from Chantae Miller and Christina Patrick. The Stags were able to hold Albany for the remainder of the half keeping the score 1-0. Fairfield also added two shots in the half but unable to put one into the back of the net.
The second half was filled with three goals by the Great Danes, one each by Christina Patrick, Karlihn van Dijsseldonk, and Taylor Luke. Patrick scored in the 50th minute off a rebound shot from teammate van Dijsselddonk who had another chance just minutes later this time putting it past Fairfield goalkeeper
Maddy Sposito. To finalize the scoring, junior defender Luke took a long shot from the left side of the circle at the 61:54 mark to give Albany the 4-0 lead.
The Great Danes outshot the Stags 16-3.

Lindsey Hatch each had a shot in the game. Sposito kept busy throughout the match with an impressive 12 saves on the day.
Fairfield enters their game on Sunday afternoon against Brown University 8-4 on the season and 0-2 in the America East. The game will be at University Field at 2 p.m.
