BRONX, N.Y. –
The Fairfield University men's and women's swimming & diving teams fell at Fordham University this evening. The men's team was defeated 173-107 while the women's team fell 177-99.
 
Freshmen Tyler Conley and Evan Barr were double-winners for the Fairfield men. Conley won the 50y freestyle with a personal best of 21.79 seconds and captured the 100y freestyle with a time of 49.75 seconds. Barr captured the 1-meter with a score of 197.27 and won the 3-meter with a personal best of 216.90 and one of the Stags' top-10 performances all-time.
 
On the women's side, sophomore Suzy Lawlor captured the 100y breaststroke with a time of 1:10.85, touching out Fordham's Savannah Coe by .12 second. Lawlor was third in the 200y breaststroke finishing with a time of 2:32.01.
 
Freshman Lauren Kemple earned first place points in the women's 1-meter diving event with a personal best of 157.28 while freshman Ashlee Steinberger picked up second place points with a mark of 122.20. On the 3-meter, Steinberger notched a personal best of 221.05 while Kemple had a personal best of 136.80.
 
In men's diving, junior Ryan Krebs was third on the 1-meter with a mark of 185.85. Freshman Will Sullivan was fourth with a score of 184.20 while freshman Joe Dowling registered a 137.85. On the 3-meter, Krebs had a score of 166.50 while Dowling finished third with a score of 155.25 and Sullivan posted a personal best of 136.80.
 
Sophomore Rich Straub placed third in the men's 200y breaststroke with a time of 2:20.06 and clocked a time of 1:05.79 to finish fourth in the 100y breaststroke.
 
Sophomore Cody Parker placed third in the 1000y free with a personal best of 10:13.88 while Kevin Greener finished fourth with a time of 10:16.23. In the 500y freestyle, Parker placed fourth with a time of 5:00.18 while Greener was sixth in 5:05.81.
 
Senior Andrew Robinson finished third in the 200y freestyle with a time of 1:50.66 while Tommy Peters was fourth in 1:52.98. Robinson also posted a time of 54.54 seconds in the 100y fly to earn first place points.
 
Senior Kenny Muti finished fourth in the 100y back with a time of 59.59 seconds while Kyle Rozanitis was fourth in the 200y back with a time of 2:11.10.
 
The 200y medley relay of Andrew Hiss, Straub, Robinson, and Conley finished third with a time of 1:42.68. The 200y freestyle relay of Doug Leclair, Conley, Robinson, and Brendan Sarpu took third with a time of 1:29.63.
 
For the women, senior Michelle Yoshida was the runner-up in the 50y freestyle, clocking a time of 25.29 seconds. Yoshida was also third in the 100y freestyle, finishing in 54.97 seconds.
 
Junior Cacky Keating finished fourth in the 200y butterfly with a time of 2:16.34. She also picked up first-place points in the 500y freestyle with a personal best of 5:20.82.
 
Freshman Meredith LaBerge placed third in the 1000y freestyle with a personal best of 10:56.01 while classmate Alex Hearn finished fourth in 11:05.42. LaBerge posted a time of 5:23.58 to earn second place points in the 500y freestyle while Hearn had a time of 2:25.63 in the 200y IM to score for the Stags.
 
In the 100y fly, senior Aly Criscuolo and sophomore Megan Kuzniewski both scored, finishing in 1:03.72 and 1:10.05, respectively. Sophomore Emily Pedrick had time of 2:03.84 in the 200y freestyle.
 
Senior Norah Gentile clocked a time of 1:06.04 in the 100y back to finish fourth while freshman Lisa Tkach was fifth in 1:06.51. Gentile also was fourth in the 200y back, finishing in 2:20.68 while Tkach took fifth in 2:24.91.
 
The 200y medley relay of Yoshida, Lawlor, Keating, and Pedrick had a time of 1:54.51. The 200y freestyle relay of Keating, Yoshida, Pedrick, and Teresa Garrity recorded a time of 1:42.18.
 
Fairfield returns to action on November 12 when the diving team travels to Marist College while the swim team heads to Manhattan College.
