Carly Beyar tallied two goals to rally the Fairfield University women's soccer team from an early deficit to a 3-1 win over Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) host Saint Peter's College on Sunday afternoon. The victory snaps a five-game winless streak for the Stags, who improve to 4-6-4 overall and 2-2-1 in league play.  The loss drops the Peahens to 2-12-1 overall and 1-5-0 in MAAC action.

Saint Peter's wasted little time in getting on the scoreboard when Emily Fenice punched home a Jamie Lisanti pass 8:34 into the contest.  The Peahens only managed one more shot on goal in the game, 30 minutes later, which would be saved by Kelly Boudreau, while the Stags offense tallied three unanswered goals.

Carly Beyar and Nikki Stanton combined to net the Stags first two games, with the equalizer coming in the 23rd minute as Stanton sent a corner kick to Beyar who struck it inside the far post.  The duo connected again for the game-winning tally in the 63rd minute, as Stanton fed Beyar for a low shot to the far post from just outside the box.  Fairfield got an insurance goal just under four minutes later as Shannon Fay sent a left-footed cross to the head of Lauren Reilly.

The three goal effort is the first multi-goal game of the season for the Stags.

Fairfield returns to action on Friday, October 21 as it hosts Loyola University Maryland at 7 p.m. on Lessing Field.  It is the first of two home MAAC games, as Rider University visits for a 1 p.m. game on Sunday, the Stags final home game of the 2011 season.
