COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Fairfield University volleyball dropped its fifth-straight with a 3-0 (14-25, 16-25, 15-25) loss to the University of Maryland this afternoon at the Spring Hill Suites at Arundel Mills Terrapin Volleyball Invitational.

Sophomore Brianna Dixion (Long Beach, Calif.), junior Haililani Pokipala (Honolulu, Hawaii), and senior Lauren Hughes (Costa Mesa, Calif.) each recorded eight kills for the Stags (1-8). Mary Cushman led the way for Maryland (7-1) with 10 kills on .600 hitting.

Freshman Rachel Romansky (Denver, Colo.) assisted on 27 of 30 kills on the day while adding two kills of her own. She also had four digs. Classmate Hayley Moyer (Riverside, Calif.) tallied four kills while sophomore Kara Reis (Ramona, Calif.) posted six digs.

Maryland hit .379 for the match while holding Fairfield to a .140 attack percentage. The Terps also out-blocked the Stags 8-2.

Fairfield concludes action at the Terrapin Invitational with a 4:30pm match against Penn.
